October 2012 -Field Trips

This month we have our first field trip coming up. In preparation of this field trip I have been taking the class out on neighborhood walks every Monday. On the walk we stop at fields and they race to a tree come back to me and then race again and we continue our walk. I thought this was a good idea because this walk is sort of like a mini field trip. The children have to listen to direction stay with me and learn to notify me when they need to stop walking for any reason. During the walks we practice being aware of our surroundings and following the directions that signs give to us.

During this time I have also stressed the importance of listening to Miss Tessie. The class is made up of 2-5 year olds and while most of the time they can be impulsive I feel that repeated exposure to the way things will work during a field trip will curb a lot of the problems that can up with children trying to wander off and not paying attention. Our field trip to the science museum actually ended up being a very good experience for us. The class followed all of the direction and my parent helper for the day and I ended up able to enjoy a good deal of the trip because the children were able to listen and follow directions.

Our field trip for this month will be to Brad's Produce for pumpkin picking and hay rides.

I am very excited to take the class out on an adventure and with all the changes in the classroom (new children arriving, moving over to a new way of running the class room) they have worked very hard and deserve to have this fun time.

I did decide to have an impromptu field trip in the month of November. We have been reading Rise of the Guardians and the class LOVES the pictures and the story. I have decided that we will make this a field trip.

I myself have read the novel version and I am just as excited as the kids to go out and view this as a field trip!

Reminders:

Some reminders for the class is that book orders with Scholastic are due by 15 November. You receive a free book and so does the class so every little bit helps!

Remember to bring in your labels for education and to stick them in the box that sits on the cubbies this is a good way for me to attempt to get new things for the school.

Also I will have several slots open for Fall 2013. If you are going to need after school care please talk to me now because advertisements and enrollments for these slots will be happening as soon as Dec.

Thank you very much for allowing me to be part of you and your child's life and I look forward to continuing this awesome school year with you :)

Summer and New School year ahead!

I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish since I opened the preschool in March! I have been very lucky in the fact that I have remained full for the most part since I opened in March with a great group of kids. They give me a run for my money everyday but if you take a look at the Facebook page you will see that they are having fun while they are doing it!

We work for an hour everyday on reading, writing and math. In the afternoon they have some sort of art project or a fun learning game, every Friday is free day because after all the work they deserve a total free for all in school :).

I take a vacation next month for about a week. During that week I will be updating paperwork and tearing down my classroom and redecorating it for the new school year. I have the school year calender almost set and I have someone ready to be the preschool photographer! I am so excited about my first full year of teaching that I am coming up with too many ideas!

We will be holding our own Olympics and during the elections we will be voting and learning about our government. We are currently growing Pumpkins in the preschool garden and I do believe we will be attempting to grow an apple tree :)

I really enjoy my career. I may have days where they run circles around me but in the end I know that it was all worth it to make sure that I made their path through school easier by helping their parents to give them a great start in learning!

Till next month!

Perfect Start Learning-March

Hello!

I am proud to announce that Perfect Start Learning's grand opening will be the 19th of March. The theme for the month will be Growing Gardens from Mother Goose Time. If you have not had a chance to check out the site please feel free to do so. We have numerous projects to do this month that will encourage learning and observations and seeking out answers.

Please remember that Perfect Start Learning's prices are based upon your income. I do this to ensure that parents can afford the quality education they want to give their children without breaking the bank.

I have gotten the Scholastic book order forms for the Month of Feb with the new ones coming soon for March. I will send home the forms along with our class code so that you may place your orders online. In this way you are helping Perfect Start Learning earn points to receive new books and materials to be used in the education of your child. If you have friends that would like to support Perfect Start Learning please feel free to direct them to our class ordering site so that they can also help towards our goal of providing the very best materials to your child.

Our weekly reader and Clifford subscriptions will be started at a staggered rate with the Clifford Subscription first and the Weekly Reader starting April. There is no extra cost for these subscriptions they come along with your child's enrollment in the program.

I am looking forward to the first day of school and to providing a learning environment that is safe and fun for all children enrolled in my program. I have worked hard to make sure that parents and children are happy with the education provided at Perfect Start Preschool. I look forward to providing this environment.

Thank you all I can't wait to see you all on the first day of school!

Perfect Start Preschool-December

I have had a couple set backs due to the move from Germany but I am very happy to announce that I will be opening in Jan. I am waiting on the last of my inspections and I will be open and ready to teach! I am also happy to say that I have graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Birth-Kindergarten Education with an Early Childhood Concentration.

This week as I do the copies for my website and going over the prices and the things I want to offer I remembered that one of the things I loved about my son's school was that they offered date nights for the parents to get in that well deserved break. So I have decided to offer this feature twice a month. This will be on the monthly calender  I send out. For now I want to put out the fees for that and the preschool.

Date Night Fees
5-9:30
$30.00- for 1 child
$40.00- for 2 children

Fee Chart
Fees will be done according to pay. I am a firm believer in making sure that education is affordable for everyone so in order to do that I have decided to set this up so that you pay a flat fee weekly. All contracts will be done between myself and the family.
